Budget Power Rack with Weights
Recently, I covered Cheap Home Gym Equipment for people who want to work out at home. For those who want a home gym setup that is a little more comprehensive, here is a power rack with weights combo deal that won’t put too much of a dent in your life’s savings.
Power Rack with Weights
REP – All You Need Package
It’s easy to find a cheap rack, but not so easy to find a good deal on a power rack with weights. The team over at REP Fitness put together an “All You Need” package that includes a Power Rack, Bench, Barbell, and 175lbs of weight.
The power racks available in this package are the PR-1000 which I’ve covered and PR-1050, which is the shorter version. These power racks have a total weight capacity of 700lbs with options to add a dip and lat pulldown attachment. What makes them unique are the dual pull-up bars measuring 1.25″ in the front and 2″ in the back.
The package also comes with a standard barbell that is 30mm in diameter and weighs 44lbs. This bar is the same type of barbell you would find in a conventional gym. It has a 700lb weight capacity and is suitable for most compound movements. If you plan on performing Olympic lifts such as snatches or cleans, you should consider upgrading the bar.
- 30mm diameter
- Weight: 20 kg (44 lbs)
- 700 lb capacity
- 2″ Sleeves for Olympic sized plates
- Bolted sleeve attachment
- 4.75″ center knurl
- Zinc coating – rust resistant
It would have been nice to see an adjustable bench, but REP Fitness wanted to keep the price for this package low, and you have the option to upgrade. Instead, you get a flat bench made of 11-gauge steel with a weight capacity of 1000lbs.
Specs: Dimensions: 17.5″ high, 47″ long, 12″ wide, 45 lbs
To complete this package, you get 175lbs of iron plates. It’s not a lot of weight, but it’s enough to get you started with some squats, deadlifts, rows, and other compound movements.
Plate Dimensions (width/diameter)
- 2.5lb – 0.5″/6.25″
- 5lb – 0.75″/7.75″
- 10lb – 1″/9″
- 25lb – 1.5″/10.75″
- 45lb – 1.5″/17.7″
Assuming you don’t purchase any upgrades, you can get this power rack with weights, barbell, and bench for $596.99 – $612.99 before shipping. The difference in price will depend on if you get the PR-1000 rack or the shorter PR-1050. Shipping will cost roughly $150 depending on where you live in the USA. You could probably add the dip bar and lat-pulldown/low row attachment and still manage to be under $1000.
This is an excellent deal. If you’re interested in building a home or garage gym, you need to head over to REP-Fitness right now.
