As an alternative to the GPR400, the Body-Solid GPR378 power rack is slightly cheaper but keeps most of the features that make the GPR400 such a great workstation. Pound for pound, the GPR378 is one of the better commercial-rated home or garage racks that money can buy.
The GPR378 uses the same 3″ x 3″ 11-gauge steel frames as the 400 model but with an 800lb weight capacity. It is slightly lighter at 225lbs when assembled and has a smaller footprint of 50″ L x 46″ W x 80″ H. Being an inch taller than the GPR400, it will still fit in most locations even if there is limited vertical space.
Unlike the 1-inch hole spacing we find on the GPR400, we see 3-inch spacing on the GPR378. In some cases, this makes it challenging to find additional attachments, but if you’re considering this model, then attachments may not be a concern. In addition, the GPR378 features 20 adjustment levels, a 1.5-inch integrated chin-up bar, high-capacity lift-offs, and safety bars.
The Body-Solid GPR378 power rack has an optional dip station, lat pulldown, and squat calf attachment. These options are a significant difference between the GPR378 and the GPR400 as the latter offers more flexibility in the long term. The takeaway is that the GPR378 is a smaller and discounted version of the GPR400 but retains its commercial build quality, outstanding warranty, and enough optional attachments to provide a tremendous home-gym experience.
As a Body-Solid product, the GPR378 ships free to the lower 48 states.
