The Huawei Honor Band 5 is a Fitness Tracker with excellent battery life, an AMOLED display, and plenty of activities for fitness enthusiasts to track.

What you get

The Huawei Honor Band 5 hasn’t changed much from the previous model. Most buyers will be more interested in trying to determine whether they should purchase the Honor Band 5 or the Xiaomi Mi Band 4. For the most part, the two devices are very similar and personal preference will determine which one you buy.

The Honor Band 5 also has a 0.95-inch AMOLED display running a resolution 240×120 with 2.5D curved glass. The colors are vibrant and seem to look a little better than the Mi Band 4. One advantage Xiaomi has over the Honor Band is the number of screensavers or “watch faces”.

Also, the Mi Band 4 requires you to detach it from its straps in order to charge it, while the Honor Band 5 doesn’t require this extra step. The action button on the two devices is also slightly different. On the Honor Band, the action button takes you to the home screen, while the same button on the Mi Band 4 only takes you to the previous page.

The Huawei Honor Band 5  can track various fitness activities such as Cycling, Running, Swimming, and Power Walking, Elliptical training, etc. Some of the exercises like the Elliptical Training aren’t provided on the Mi Band 4 so it seems that the Honor Band has more exercises than the Mi Band 4. Additionally, it’s 5ATM water-resistant, making it suitable for underwater activities up to 50 meters. It has a sedentary reminder, event reminders, ability to unlock your phone, and music control.

The Honor Band uses Huawei Health to synchronize health and sleep data with your smartphone. One advantage that the Mi Band 4 has over the Honor Band is its ability to sync with Google Fit. On the other hand, the Huawei Health app provides much more detailed data. The Honor Band 5 also features SMS and push notifications, call rejection, smart reminders, find phone, and remote camera.

The Huawei Honor Band 5 is powered by a 100mAH battery with Bluetooth 5.0, giving it 15 days of battery usage. However, using the always-on heart rate monitor and tracking features will get you around 8-10 days of battery life. Charging time is around 1.5 hours. Since the battery is smaller than the 135mah on the Mi Band 4, charging times are less.

Huawei Honor Band 5

The Huawei Honor Band 5 and Xiaomi Mi Band 4 are very similar in terms of design and functionality. To determine which one you should buy, consider if you need Google Fit syncing and if you prefer a longer battery life. The Mi Band has a larger battery, giving it up to 20 days of usage. Also, the Mi Band has more options for the home screen or “screensaver”, but the Honor Band has more exercise tracking and more detailed information. Everything else is practically the same and you can’t go wrong with either one.

Great product with many functions. It took me a long time to set up because the manual is in Chinese. I had to look for tutorial on youtube. The reviews I found were very good. Good price, worth it. To be better, could have a gps. To make good use of exercise resources, you need to be on your phone.

I just got my band today. I am very very pleased with this band, it’s so simple and light, and I know I’m gonna be using it all the time like it’s predecesor (Huawei Honor Band 3). It counts my step, takes my heart rates and blood oxigen, monitor sleep, calculate calories it’s just great, and now supports free training, indoor and outdor cycle, walking and so on… Has some very cool suff, it’s in color, can change skin, and so simple to install. Well I got Huawei mobile as well, I only had to connect it to that app and it swithed to english language, updated firmware, adjusted screen, did everything. I just love it!

Item was very well packaged and had no damages from shipping. Delivery time was reasonable. Everything works. Straight out of box the band was in asian characters but after update it will change the language. There are just few time consuming software updates that need to be done before best user experience. Do recommend.
