REP Fitness All You Need Package
We covered the PR-1000 squat rack and mentioned that you could find it in a few combo packages offered by Rep Fitness. The Rep Fitness All You Need package is an easy and cost-effective way to get up and running with a home or garage gym setup. This combo pack comes with the PR-1000, a flat bench, Olympic barbell, and 175lb of iron plate weights.
What You Get
The PR-1000 squat rack has 2”x2” 14-gauge steel frames and can hold up to 700lbs of weight on the included j-cups. When assembled, the PR-1000 weighs 144lbs and stands 83” tall. For areas with limited vertical space, Rep Fitness offers a shorter 72” model called the PR-1050. It’s worth noting that if you opt for the shorter version, the PR-1050, you cannot use the optional lat-pulldown attachment.
The full dimensions of the PR-1000 are 83”h x 48”w x 48” d. The PR-1000 series racks come with two rear weight pegs for storage and stabilization, and it isn’t necessary to bolt them to the floor. There are dual integrated pull-up bars that allow multiple users to workout simultaneously. The front bar measures 1.25” in diameter, while the rear bar is 2”.
In addition to allowing simultaneous workouts, the thicker 2” bar will provide different muscle activation while performing pull-ups or chin-ups. However, it’s again worth noting that if you add the optional lat-pulldown attachment to the PR-1000, the rear pull-up bar goes away.
The PR-1000 squat rack also features numbered uprights, 2” hole spacing, 2 included j-cups and an extra bar holder. Inside, it measures a comfortable 26” in depth and 44” wide. It doesn’t appear that the PR-1100 is available with this combo.
The Rep Fitness All You Need package comes with the Rep Fitness standard Olympic barbell. It is 30mm in diameter, weighs 44lbs, and has a zinc coating with bolted sleeves. It is a decent bar and suitable for bench presses, squats, rows, and some deadlifts. For Olympic lifts, Crossfit, and movements that require more whip action, you might consider upgrading or purchasing their Gladiator or Black Sabre Barbell.
For the bench, Rep Fitness included the FB-3000 flat-bench that has a high-density pad. The high-density cushion prevents lifters from sinking into the bench while pressing. The FB-3000 is constructed with 11-gauge steel and has a weight capacity of 1000lbs. Also, the FB-3000 comes in several color options.
Unfortunately, the FB-3000 is only a flat bench, and you may want to upgrade if you’re going to perform decline and incline movements.
175lbs of iron plates are included with the Rep Fitness All You Need package. You have the option of upgrading to a mixed set with bumper plates, hex plates, or you can increase the weight sets to 270 lbs. It isn’t a lot of weight but sufficient for a cost-effective combo package like this one. You might also want to look at some flooring protection.
Best Home Gym Combo
There aren’t many combo deals on the market right now, and the Rep Fitness All You Need package is one of the better packages we’ve found. Of course, it’s not going to be enough for everyone. And it is packaged in a way that makes you want to upgrade some pieces. However, with optional attachments like the lat-pulldown, dip bars, and weight storage extension, the All You Need package is all most people will need for a home or garage gym setup.
